Summary The LGA is preparing a draft submission on the South Australian Arts Plan 2019-2024 which is being developed by consultants for Arts SA in the State Government. Councils are invited to provide feedback for inclusion in the LGA submission or can make their own submission.

A new Arts Plan is being developed by Arts SA to articulate a vision for arts and culture in this State and consultation is now open.

The consultants undertaking the draft Plan are seeking to:

  • understand how the arts sector could be developed
  • articulate the important role South Australian artists, organisations and institutions contribute to the state, national and      international arts and cultural ecology
  • help all South Australians access rich and diverse arts activities and experiences, wherever they live, and
  • guide the South Australian Government’s support for arts and culture into the future.

Information about the consultation process can be found here.

As a result of a number of requests, Arts SA has extended its consultation to 12 April.  The consultants are running a series of workshops in Mount Gambier (1 April), Port Augusta (2 April), Adelaide (3 April) and Port Adelaide (4 April).  You can register here.
