Summary The final program including registration links can be found in this Circular. Online registrations close Friday 5 April.

The 2019 Council Best Practice Showcase and LGA Ordinary General Meeting is being held on 11 & 12 April at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Day 1 will kick off with a keynote address from Craig Reucassel, a writer and comedian who is best known for his work with the ABC on The Chaser and The War on Waste series. After morning tea delegates will have a choice of two concurrent streams, with the first highlighting a range of best practice projects from across SA councils in areas such as service transformation, leadership programs, tourism, disability access and inclusion planning, SA coastal council alliance and financial and asset management. The alternate stream will have a waste and recycling focus, noting the current efforts to establish a circular economy in South Australia.

We are excited to announce that former Attorney General and Special Envoy to the Prime Minister, and now Mayor of Hornsby Shire, the Honourable Philip Ruddock, will join us as the keynote speaker day 2. Mayor Ruddock will provide some unique and valuable insights about an ideal working relationship between local and federal governments, and share his views on the current national political landscape, and what it means for local government into the future.

The LGA is pleased to offer the following to members:

Offer 1: If your council registers additional delegates (full showcase and OGM eg more than the number it sent to Showcase in 2018) they will receive one free registration. In addition, for every four delegates you register for the full event (both days and dinner) the fifth registration is free. Please note that the free registration only applies if you register for the full showcase pass (both days and dinner)*

Offer 2: We will again be offering two streams at this Showcase event however for the first time one stream will focus on waste and recycling. Given this focus the LGA has recognised that some councils might have staff or elected members interested in this stream. Therefore, the LGA is also offering a day one registration deal. If you register two delegates for the Thursday Showcase you will receive one pass for free.*
