Summary The LGA and the Department for Environment and Water (DEW) consultation on flood, levee bank and dam management has now entered into the second stage of the consultation process and a draft LGA submission is now available for council review. The LGA requests this feedback to inform the final LGA submission be provided by 24 May 2019.

The Department for Environment and Water (DEW) are co-ordinating with the LGA to conduct a flood management consultation process with councils to improve flood, dam and levee bank management in South Australia. 

The consultation is focused on the following DEW draft position papers:

Following an information session held at Local Government House on 18 March 2019 and written responses provided to the LGA, the LGA secretariat has developed a draft response to the above discussion papers.
