Council Best Practice Showcase and LGA Ordinary General Meeting
The Council Best Practice Showcase and LGA Ordinary General Meeting is an annual event held in Adelaide.
The Local Government Association of South Australia (LGA) Ordinary General Meeting is one of the ultimate decision-making and policy setting forums for the LGA. In addition to the formal elements of the Ordinary General Meeting the showcase element looks at council best practice case studies.

The 2019 Council Best Practice Showcase and LGA Ordinary General Meeting will be held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on 11 & 12 April.
The Showcase promises to be an exciting and through provoking event and the LGA is pleased to announce that the keynote speaker will be Craig Reucassel. Craig is an Australian writer and comedian who is best known for his work with the ABC on The Chaser and The War on Waste series which saw him challenge Australians about their waste and recycling habits.
Craig will kick off day 1 with some surprising facts and he’ll no doubt challenge the audience to work together to achieve better outcomes for waste and recycling practices. After morning tea delegates will be able to choose between two streams, one that focuses on a range of best practice projects from across SA councils in areas such as service transformation, leadership programs, tourism, disability access and inclusion planning, SA coastal council alliance, financial and asset management, and the alternate stream will have a waste and recycling focus noting the current efforts to establish a circular economy in South Australia.
In particular, the sessions will explore how the local government sector is driving growth through resource recovery and how this will help to maintain South Australia’s position at the forefront of sustainable waste and resource recovery practices nationwide.
Once again there will be an exhibition hall that will not only include sponsor displays promoting their services and products, but will include a number of councils showcasing their services and projects.
Registration and program details will be available late February/early March.
