The EPA is undertaking a minor review of the Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016 to consider any issues that arisen in the administration of the legislation in the two years since its commencement. The EPA has issued a Discussion Paper to inform the review which is available on the EPA website and the LGA website here: Review of the Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016 discussion paper 2019(398 kb).
The LGA will be holding an information session on the review for interested council staff on Thursday, 25 July 2019, from 2-4pm at Local Government House, 148 Frome Street, Adelaide. To register for the information session, please contact Brianna McGee, Policy Officer. The information session will be recorded and made available to members afterwards upon request to Brianna McGee.
Submissions to the review must be received by the EPA no later than Friday, 4 October 2019.
Matters discussed at the information session will inform an LGA submission to the review. However, councils are also encouraged to make individual submissions to the review. Individual submissions should be addressed to:
